Sincerely yours,

OMG guys, I'm so totally out of here. Gonna go buy that farm in France that I was dreaming about.

Seriously, I thought I'd highlight this one for a few reasons. I won't even touch the obvious "I didn't enter this lottery / Why are they informing me by email?" things that come to mind.

First off, having just returned from France, I can say with some assurance that 4.000.000 € does not equal $4,000,000. In fact, based on where you get a conversion done, it's around and $4,865,000. I'm guessing this originated when they were much closer to 1:1.

Second, I'm struck by the odd pairing of the Sultan of Brunei and Michael Dell. I just don't see it.

Last, but not least, let me get this straight. Are you trying to tell me that there's a substantial lottery out there entirely to encourage use of the Internet and computers worldwide? Why would the Swiss hold it? I haven't seen any usage graphs lately, but I'd be willing to bet that over 50% of Internet users are American. Imagine if the Olympics were held as such? The marathon was 75% Americans with a few other countries tossed in there? Oh, the heart, it weeps. It's just not fair.

It may be the Suburban White Guy in me, but I think it's safe to say that there's a very small minority that's "holding out" on this Internet thing. If you're going to use the Internet in your lifetime, you're probably using it right now. If not, you either live in a third-world country, you're Amish, or you're old and an optical mouse makes you very, very nervous.
